Spiny Squat Lobster ( Galathea strigosa ) is one of the most beautiful Crustacean in Norwegian waters. Here is a close-up of the head of this very common squat lobster.
The image was captured during a night dive on the Southwest coast of Norway.
Spiny Squat Lobster usually hides during the day, and it is not easy to catch with the camera. It is the largest squat lobster we have, and it may grow to a length of 10 cm.
Galathea strigosa is found from the surface down to the depth of 600 meters.
